Design Plan

We created the Design Plan Guide to help you make a plan for your arcade game and think about the different elements in a cardboard game. It will help you start to think about what sort of cardboard game you want to create and what elements you will need to include.

All you need to do is watch some videos and then answer a few questions. Click on the link below to create copy of the Design Plan for your personal use.

Submit your Sketch Diagram

All designers and engineers create sketch diagrams to create a picture of the object they want to build. The Challenge Support page includes four sketch designs for Ball Runs, Ball Drops, Pinball-Style, Plinko-Style, and Maze Boards to give you an idea.

All sketches should show a diagram of the marble flow and label the elements included.  It’s also helpful to list out the materials you will use to build your adventure.  If a part of your design is too hard to draw, just briefly describe that section in a bubble with an arrow.  And don’t forget to include your THEME in the sketch!

You may use drawing apps to help you create the sketch and submit a picture or screenshot of your sketch.  Or draw out your sketch on paper and take a picture to upload.  Print out and use the last page of the Design Plan Guide as a template if needed.
